Music Ministry

Throughout Biblical history, we are commanded to sing and make music for the Lord. There are numerous Old Testament accounts of men and women of faith like Jubal, Moses, David, Miriam, the Psalmists and others who sang, danced and played instruments before their God. It was the Levites who were chosen by God to "carry the ark of God and to minister before Him forever." (1 Chronicles 15:2 )

In the New Testament, we are continually exhorted and commanded to worship God and Christ through music. The angels pronouncement of praise at the birth of Jesus, the command "teach and admonish one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord" (Col. 3:16 ), and the future song we will sing in Heaven (Rev. 4:11 ) are just a few examples of the importance that Scripture places on music.

Music is a gift from God. It is a gift He has given us to be able to offer praise and worship to Him. It is clear that God intends for His people to be praise-leading.
